Food Services

Our Commitment

The Food Services Department at the Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice provides wholesome, well-balanced meals that support the physical health, growth, and overall well-being of the youth in our care. Recognizing that proper nutrition is fundamental to positive youth development and educational engagement, our team prepares daily menus that meet rigorous federal and state dietary guidelines while fostering a safe, supportive dining environment across all state-operated facilities. Through quality food service and a commitment to operational excellence, we serve as a vital partner in the agency's broader mission to rehabilitate youth and empower them toward successful futures.

What You Can Expect

We are pleased to announce that our Wellness Policy is now available on our official Facebook page, providing parents, families, staff, and community members with accessible information regarding our commitment to fostering healthy lifestyles. For any questions or concerns related to the policy or our food service program, please direct inquiries to the Food Service Director.

Our Wellness Policy emphasizes nutrition education and promotes healthy eating habits. To make it easier to access, we will also post a copy of our menu on our Facebook page. We welcome any inquiries regarding the menus or food service operations.

In addition to promoting proper nutrition, we are dedicated to enhancing students' overall health by offering opportunities for physical education throughout the day. Students may also participate in competitive sports, which promote physical activity, teamwork, and personal development.

We value family engagement and communication. Each campus has a Family Liaison who conducts monthly meetings with parents, providing a platform to share important information and address any questions. A representative from Food Service will attend these meetings to discuss our program and address concerns.

In the future, we will continue to share relevant information about our Wellness Policy, menus, nutrition education, and food service program on our Facebook page to promote transparency, encourage community participation, and keep our school communities informed.
