Courtney Myers as the new Deputy Secretary of Youth Services for the Department of Public Safety & Corrections (DPS&C)

BATON ROUGE – Following diligent consultations with Governor Landry and his leadership team, it is with great honor that we announce the appointment of Courtney Myers as the new Deputy Secretary of Youth Services for the Department of Public Safety & Corrections (DPS&C), effective February 2, 2026.

Ms. Myers brings a wealth of specialized experience and a proven track record of advocacy to this vital leadership role. Since January 2023, she has served with distinction as the Assistant Secretary of the Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ). Her transition to Deputy Secretary represents a continued commitment to reform and excellence within the state's juvenile justice system.

A Career Dedicated to Juvenile Justice

Before her tenure at the OJJ, Ms. Myers spent nearly a decade (2013–2022) with the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney's Office. During her time there, she served as an Assistant District Attorney and was eventually promoted to Section Chief of the Juvenile Section.
