OJJ Youth Receives Reentry Award
A Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice youth, recently received a $500 award from the Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CIYJ) Reentry Award. This award recognizes the resilience of justice-involved young people as they transition back into their communities.
The youth was selected from a pool of 21 applicants from across the nation. The funds will be used to support his reentry journey, helping him to secure housing, employment, and other essential needs.
"I haven't made up my mind about what I want to do with my life yet, but I do know I want to be successful," said the youth. "I want to be proud of myself and others to be proud of me."
Thank you to Brittny Bishop and Susan Haulcy for supporting and helping the youth to successfully complete and submit his application.
