JPSO Immediately Restores Order at Bridge City Center for Youth
Bridge City, La.An altercation ensued, involving 20 youths outside of a dormitory at Bridge City Center for Youth (BCCY) at approximately 10:00 pm, June 16, 2022. The facility is located on 3225 River Road, Bridge City, Louisiana.
Following the incident, OJJ immediately ceased all movement at the facility and made official notification to local law enforcement. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deployed their SWAT Team to assist on the scene.
One youth sustained an injury during the altercation that required medical attention. The youth was treated and released.
One staff member sustained a minor injury during the disturbance that required medical assessment.
OJJ immediately transferred youths involved in the altercation to another OJJ secure care facility.
At approximately 12:45 am, June 17, 2022 responding staff had completely restored order on the campus.
