The graduation for Acadiana Center for Youth—Central Southwest Alternative School, led by Principal Ronald Johnnie, took place on Friday, May 31, 2024. It was a momentous occasion as our students, G. Bennet, T. Clark, and K. Daniels, received their high school diploma or equivalency (HiSet), a testament to their hard work and dedication. The commencement ceremony was graced by a keynote address from retired U.S. Army Green Beret Terry 'Ranger' Johnson. He concluded his speech by inspiring the young men in attendance to recite the positive affirmation, 'Look at me...I am more than what you see.'

Acadiana Center for Youth at Bunkie, Director Jarvis Callihan expressed profound gratitude to the youth for staying the course. He also highlighted the families' consistent support, which has been instrumental in the students' success. Despite the distance, their unwavering support and presence made the first in-person commencement since the COVID-19 pandemic a truly special and memorable event.

Graduates were celebrated with personalized photos and treat tables to share with their special guests and peers. They even had an opportunity to join their families in the dining hall for their favorite lunch.
