Bridge City Center for Youth Teen Apprehended by NOPD
New Orleans, La.On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at approximately 2:00 pm NOPD apprehended a 19 year-old youth involved in a single escape from the Bridge City Center for Youth back on April 10, 2022. The facility is located at 3225 River Road, Bridge City, Louisiana.
The youth most recent arrest is in connection with an incident that occurred near the intersection of Burdette and Fig streets in Orleans Parish. The youth is charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm, criminal trespassing, and outstanding warrants.
In an effort to mitigate future escapes, the Office of Juvenile Justice has installed razor mesh fencing, employed off-duty sheriff deputies to patrol the perimeter of the complex, tree removal, and upgrades to CCTV systems that provide geothermal imaging throughout the complex.
