Special visitation may be granted if prior arrangements are made at least two days in advance of the desired visit. Visitation during school hours will not be allowed unless authorized by the Assistant Director.
Attorneys and members of the clergy are not limited to set visitation but are required to follow visitation rules.
To schedule visits, call the facility’s receptionist at the main telephone number at 318. 932.4411.
Youth are allowed to call only those individuals on their approved telephone call list, primarily parents or guardians.
Youth are allowed telephone calls based on their stage:
Stage I - 1 weekly phone call
Cell phones or other electronic devices are not allowed.
All girls enjoy receiving mail from home and immediate family members are encouraged to write or send cards so your daughter/sister/granddaughter will know she is not forgotten. Mail will be opened in the presence of a staff member, but staff will not be able to read youths’ mail unless contraband items are suspected. Items deemed inappropriate or contraband will be held by staff and returned to the youth at the time of discharge.
Ware Youth Center will provide two stamps weekly to residents unable to provide postage.
